Winter conditions in Southern Maine can make it difficult for many residents to safely access their homes. For some people, snow removal is not just inconvenient, it is a real safety concern.
Each winter, Garden Guys Landscaping offers a Community Snow Plowing Program to help a small number of residents who face health, age, or physical ability limitations and would not otherwise be able to afford professional snow removal services.
Who This Program Is Intended to Help
This program is specifically designed for individuals who meet both of the following criteria:
- Have health conditions, age-related limitations, or physical ability constraints that make snow removal unsafe or impossible
- Are unable to afford standard snow removal services due to fixed or limited income
This program is not intended for convenience-based requests or as an alternative to contracted snow services.
What the Program Provides
Participants in the Community Snow Plowing Program can expect:
- Basic driveway access during snow events
- Service provided by our regular Garden Guys crews
- Equipment and safety practices consistent with our normal operations
The goal is to help ensure safe access to and from the home, not to provide full-service or priority snow management.
How Scheduling Works
Because this program operates alongside our contracted snow routes, flexibility is required.
Participants should understand that:
- Timing may vary depending on storm conditions
- Service may occur during or after active snowfall
- Severe or extended storms may affect frequency
Safety and feasibility guide decisions during each event.
Capacity Is Limited
We are able to support a limited number of properties each winter.
Availability depends on:
- Route efficiency and location
- Storm frequency and severity
- Overall crew capacity during the season
For this reason, we encourage early outreach and thoughtful nominations.
How to Request Help or Nominate Someone
If you believe someone may qualify for the Community Snow Plowing Program, please contact us directly.
When reaching out, it’s helpful to include:
- Property address
- A brief explanation of the individual’s limitations
- Confirmation that financial constraints are a factor
We review each request carefully and will follow up as capacity allows.
